FBD Holdings plc is seeking an Underwriting Team Lead to grow our Commercial & Fleet business across Property, Liability and fleet lines. The role reports to the Commercial Underwriting Manager and focuses on profitability, service levels, and strategic implementation.

The ideal candidate will have CIP qualification, 5+ years in underwriting, and strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. This position sits within the Underwriting Department and offers a supportive, inclusive

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support achievement of profitability and revenue targets per the annual plan.
• Support and implement FBD Strategy in Commercial & Fleet Underwriting.
• Develop and implement service level agreements to ensure excellent service to FBD Sales Branches and our Broker panel.
• Provide technical referral support to the team, Sales and Claims colleagues on technical queries.
• Implement quality assurance measures to ensure underwriting standards are met.
• Report on underwriting strategies and objectives to stakeholders.
• Manage team performance to achieve objectives and develop staff.
• Ensure staff training and development to optimise performance.
• Ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
• Ability to manage and support a team in operational and technical environments.

About the Role

FBD’s strategy includes the objective to profitably grow our Commercial & Fleet Business.

We are seeking to appoint an Underwriting Team Lead to support the continued growth of our Commercial Business across, Property and Liability and fleet lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with and reporting to the Commercial Underwriting Manager the successful person will be results and service focused and key responsibilities will include;

• Support achievement of profitability and revenue targets per the annual plan.


• Support and implement FBD Strategy in Commercial & Fleet Underwriting.


• Develop and implement overall service level agreements to ensure excellent service is provided to FBD Sales Branches and our Broker panel.


• Provide technical referral support to the team, Sales and Claims colleagues on technical queries.


• Implementing and report on quality assurance measures to ensure business is underwritten to the required standards.


• Implement, administer, and report to relevant stakeholders on underwriting strategies and objectives.


• Manage the performance of the team to support achievement of objectives.


• Ensure staff receive the appropriate training and development to optimise performance.


• Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are met.


• Ability to manage and support a team in both operational and technical environments.

Education

Achieved a professional insurance qualification qualified to a minimum level of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP).

A minimum of 5 years relevant experience

• An excellent communicator with developed report writing and presentation skills.
