Job summary

FBD Holdings plc is seeking a Commercial Business Underwriting Team Leader to drive profitability and service quality across Commercial SME, Property and Liability lines. The role reports to the Commercial Underwriting Manager and focuses on coaching, performance management and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have CIP qualification, a minimum of 3 years in Commercial underwriting, and proven ability to lead a team in a target-driven environment, while maintaining strong

Responsibilities

• Support profitability and revenue targets per the annual plan.

Job description

FBD’s strategy includes the objective to profitably grow our Commercial Lines Business.

We are seeking to appoint a Commercial Business Underwriting Team Leader to support the continued growth of our Commercial Business across Commercial SME , Property and Liability lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with and reporting to the Commercial Underwriting Manager the successful person will be results and service focused and key responsibilities will include;

• Support achievement of profitability and revenue targets per the annual plan.
• Support and implement FBD Strategy in Commercial Business Underwriting.
• Develop and implement overall service level agreements to ensure excellent service is provided to FBD Sales Branches and our Broker panel.
• Provide technical referral support to the team, Sales and Claims colleagues on technical queries.
• Implementing and report on quality assurance measures to ensure business is underwritten to the required standards.
• Implement, administer, and report to relevant stakeholders on underwriting strategies and objectives.
• Manage the performance of the team to support achievement of objectives.
• Ensure staff receive the appropriate training and development to optimise performance.
• Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
• Ability to manage and support a team in both operational and technical environments.

Education

Achieved a professional insurance qualification qualified to a minimum level of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP).

Experiences

A minimum of 3 years relevant Commercial Experience

• Highly motivated, confident decision maker with ability to lead and empower others to do the same.
• Ability to lead a team and motivate team in a target driven environment.
• An excellent communicator with developed report writing and presentation skills.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Strong technical commercial property and liability knowledge, administrative and reporting skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under own initiative and an active desire to develop knowledge and experience.
