Job summary

Brown Thomas Arnotts in Dublin is seeking a proactive sustainability professional to support our Positive Change program, focusing on product workstream and responsible sourcing. You will collaborate with buying, digital and supply chain teams to embed sustainability into our offerings.

You will train internal teams, coordinate meetings, review certifications, and help with reporting and upcoming legislation, while maintaining records and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for sustainability with experience in a comparable role.
• Interest in luxury retail and supply chain knowledge is advantageous.
• Clear communicator, assertive, and able to liaise with stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
• Third level degree or equivalent in sustainability area would be advantageous.

KNOW THE ROLE

Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, passionate and innovative sustainability professional to support the Sustainability team in implementing Brown Thomas Arnotts’ ‘Positive Change’ sustainability program. The role will work across all areas of the program but with a particular focus on our product workstream and responsible sourcing strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the training and upskilling of internal teams on sustainability processes, policies and best practice
• Organise and facilitate internal meetings with key stakeholders
• Coordinate the day-to-day running of the Considered Edit, working closely with buying and digital teams, including periodic performance analysis and ensuring relevant products are accurately reflected in internal systems
• Review and authenticate third-party sustainability certifications, ensuring compliance with company sourcing criteria and upcoming legislation
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sustainability certifications, policies and supplier assessments
• Work with brand partners to encourage transparency in their supply chains and drive improvements in sustainability practices
• Support sustainability reporting both internally and externally
• Support the business in preparing for upcoming sustainability legislation, including assisting with product risk assessments and due diligence activities
• Provide broader administrative support for the Sustainability team across all aspects of the program

KNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• A genuine passion and interest in sustainability, with experience in a comparable role or exposure to sustainability in a business environment beneficial though not essential
• An interest in the luxury retail sector, product and supply chain knowledge (e.g. from a buying, merchandising or similar background) would be an advantage
• A clear communicator, assertive and comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to manage a number of projects and administrative tasks simultaneously
• Strong analytical skills, able to manage and manipulate performance data, utilising it to drive future improvement
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
• Results-driven, with the ability to deliver on time to a consistently high standard 1
• Self-motivated with strong initiative, comfortable taking ownership and progressing tasks independently
• The written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports
• A third level degree or equivalent in a sustainability-related area, such as Environmental Science or Sustainable Development, would be an advantage but is not essential
