Job summary

Brown Thomas Arnotts is seeking a sustainability professional to join the team and support the Positive Change programme. You will work across the product workstream and responsible sourcing strategy, helping train internal teams and facilitate key stakeholder engagements.

The role involves coordinating the Sustainable Edit, analysing performance data, and ensuring certifications and supplier records are up to date. Strong Excel/PowerPoint skills and a passion for fashion are valued.

Qualifications

  • A third level degree or equivalent in a sustainability-related area, such as Environmental Science or Sustainable Development, would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Experience in a comparable role or exposure to sustainability in a business environment would be beneficial, though a genuine passion and interest in sustainability is what matters most
  • A clear communicator, assertive and comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills, able to manage and manipulate performance data, utilising it to drive future improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
  • Ability to deliver on time to a consistently high standard
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative, comfortable taking ownership and progressing tasks independently
  • The written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports
  • Results-driven
  • Interest in fashion desirable

Responsibilities

  • Support the training and upskilling of internal teams on sustainability processes, policies and best practice
  • Organise and facilitate internal meetings with key stakeholders
  • Coordinate the day-to-day running of the Sustainable Edit, working closely with buying and digital teams, including periodic performance analysis and ensuring relevant products are accurately reflected in internal systems
  • Review and authenticate third-party sustainability certifications, ensuring compliance with company sourcing criteria and upcoming legislation
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sustainability certifications, policies and supplier assessments
  • Work with brand partners to encourage transparency in their supply chains and drive improvements in sustainability practices
  • Support sustainability reporting both internally and externally
  • Support the climate workflow across Scope 1, 2 and 3
  • Support the business in preparing for upcoming sustainability legislation, including assisting with product risk assessments and due diligence activities
  • Provide broader administrative support for the Sustainability team across all aspects of the programme

KNOW THE ROLE

Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, passionate and innovative sustainability professional to support the Sustainability team in implementing Brown Thomas Arnotts’ ‘Positive Change’ sustainability programme. The role will work across all areas of the programme but with a particular focus on our product workstream and responsible sourcing strategy.
