Job summary

Elite Talent Hub is assisting a long-established timber processing and green technology leader in Longford, Ireland, to recruit a Production Shift Supervisor. You will coordinate production on the factory floor, drive throughput, manage a shift team and uphold safety and quality standards.

Experience in manufacturing leadership and strong communication are essential, with the ability to adapt to shift-based demands and liaise with maintenance for issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or production environment, with supervisory or senior operator exposure.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards and workflow management.
• Proven ability to coordinate teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Experience identifying and resolving real-time operational or quality issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work a shift-based system and adapt to changing production demands.

On behalf of our client, a long-established, multi-site timber processing and green technology leader with operations across Ireland and the UK, we are seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to join their manufacturing team in Longford. The business specialises in sustainable construction and timber frame manufacturing, and continues to grow through innovation, advanced production technology and a collaborative work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate production activities across the timber frame factory floor.
• Maximise throughput and efficiency of materials and labour utilisation.
• Take direct responsibility for people management within the team, including recruitment, onboarding, training, development and performance management.
• Manage attendance, timekeeping and general workforce discipline.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the shift.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety requirements.
• Ensure all work complies with quality control standards through regular checks and monitoring.
• Oversee the accuracy of documentation associated with production and loading.
• Promote a culture of right-first-time quality across the team.
• Liaise with maintenance to ensure tasks are completed and issues are resolved efficiently.

Requirements:

• Experience within manufacturing or a production environment, ideally in a supervisory or senior operator capacity. Knowledge of the timber industry is not essential.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards and workflow management.
• Proven ability to coordinate teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience identifying and resolving operational or quality issues in real time.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
