Job summary

ID Recruitment is partnering with a growing bio-medical manufacturing company in Castlebar to recruit a Production Supervisor for the evening shift. The role involves coordinating cleanroom-based production operations, training and developing staff, and executing the production plan with strict adherence to Health & Safety, Quality and GMP.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead the team, schedule work orders, monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Level7 qualification in Business, Management, Production, Engineering or related discipline would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory position leading a production team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in people management and demonstrated ability in leading, coaching, motivating and organizing a team.
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise and naturally strive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong communicator with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. With the ability to work and collaborate effectively with cross-functional groups.
  • A personal commitment to produce the highest quality product possible is essential.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential with ability to quickly learn customized production software systems quickly.
  • Ability to read documents and interpret drawings, specifications, safety rules and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the person in charge during the evening shift, overseeing all production operations and facility management, with full authority to make operational decisions and escalate critical issues to the Production Manager.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, training, coaching and evaluation of production operatives and team leaders to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
  • Completing the production plan by scheduling work orders, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, escalating and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Develop the production team to support future business growth, including training needs analysis, succession planning, and maintenance of accurate training records to ensure workforce flexibility.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluation, employee development, recognition, disciplinary action and grievance resolution
  • Work closely with Planning to understand weekly priorities, proactively identify risks to delivery, and ensure production targets and KPIs are consistently met.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, Line Clearance and GMP and guarantee that all products meet customer requirements
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate cross – functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain groups in order to reduce areas of waste within production.
  • Proactively identify operational issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement practical, sustainable solutions to drive continuous improvement and prevent recurrence.
  • Utilise production systems and software to manage production orders, lot control and inventory tracking.
  • Coordinate minor routine cleaning & maintenance on production equipment within production schedules.
  • Perform administration duties which include; updating metrics, time and attendance system and holiday planning.

Reporting to theProduction Manager, the Production Supervisor’s main role will be to coordinatecleanroom-based production operations at our manufacturing facility inCastlebar. They will be responsible for the coordinating, training, coachingand the development of staff as well as executing the production plan, ensuringstandards in relation to Health & Safety, Quality and GMP are adhered to.

Working Hours: Monday toThursday 4.25pm to 12.35am and Friday 3.25pm to 10.35pm

Essential Duties andResponsibilities include;
