Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager for our Business & Market Insights (BMI) organization. This role focuses on driving complex, cross-functional programs, ensuring on-time delivery, and aligning execution with organizational objectives.

The ideal candidate operates independently, tackles ambiguous areas, and helps establish foundational program practices while leading cross-organizational efforts to stand up scalable delivery models across regions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments (early-stage).
• Proven experience managing complex technical programs across multiple teams.
• Strong expertise in agile delivery models and scrum practices.
• Track record of managing escalations and aligning stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of business strategy and technology landscape.
• Experience building relationships and influencing teams across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Operate with a high degree of independence to address ambiguous problems and drive timely execution.
• Establish foundational program management practices, including delivery processes, governance, and operating rhythms for a growing engineering organization.
• Lead coordination and execution across internal teams and external vendors to align scope, timelines, and results.
• Identify and bridge gaps between regions, architectures, vendors, and organizations to create scalable patterns.
• Manage escalations and drive resolution of complex delivery challenges affecting multiple teams.
• Serve as the primary contact for programs, communicating with senior leadership and translating complex information into actionable updates.
• Provide accurate visibility into program status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.
• Facilitate dialogue across teams to resolve misalignment and enable predictable delivery.
• Oversee execution across multiple teams and domains with effective reporting mechanisms.
• Support scaling of engineering squads across regions with repeatable delivery models and onboarding patterns.
• Build consensus, drive accountability, and deliver outcomes with limited guidance.
