Job summary

Waters is seeking a Staff UX Engineer to define and advance the UX Engineering strategy for its Waters Software portfolio. You will drive scalable frontend architecture, reusable components, and an enterprise Design System that enables consistent, intuitive experiences across medical instrument software products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, HCI or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, frontend development, UX Engineering, or related field.
• Experience leading frontend initiatives across multiple products/teams.
• Designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-scale Design Systems and reusable libraries.
• Strong expertise in Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, Angular Material.
• Hands-on experience with Storybook or similar design system platforms.
• Understanding of frontend architecture, state management, performance, and modern web development.
• Proficiency with Git workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the UX Engineering strategy across Waters Software portfolio.
• Serve as the technical authority for frontend architecture and Design System governance.
• Lead the evolution of a shared enterprise Design System and Storybook ecosystem.
• Establish standards for components, theming, accessibility, and visual consistency.
• Develop reusable UI frameworks using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS.
• Govern frontend engineering standards, API consistency, and lifecycle management.
• Advance quality through automated testing, accessibility validation, and visual regression testing.
• Set up scalable CI/CD, versioning, release management, and dependency governance.
• Translate user research into reusable UX solutions and development standards.
• Support Scrum teams with reusable design assets and reference architectures.
• Collaborate with leads to shape frontend technology roadmaps.
