Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer for Core Networking in Dublin, Ireland. You will own the reliability of large-scale data center and WAN networks, drive automation, and partner with software and systems teams to improve uptime and performance at scale.

The role demands deep networking expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with Unix/Linux, distributed systems, and modern cloud infrastructure. Equity and bonus targets are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with computer network systems.
• Experience with system administration and automation.
• Experience with system architecture and system design.

Responsibilities

• Design and safely introduce new products and features to data center and WAN networks.
• Consult and contribute to enhancements in Google's software defined networking(SDN) stack.
• Drive strategic efforts to improve mean time to detect (MTTD) and mitigation (MTTM) for incidents.
• Protect ML network reliability by improving ML network observability tooling, and provide emergency response for the ML network related incidents.
• Drive standardization in network management tools, workflows, and processes to minimize human involvement and simplify emergency response.
