Job summary

Google in Dublin, Ireland, seeks an Engineering Manager for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead the AlphaNet Core SRE team responsible for Google's SDN architecture across campus aggregation and wide-area networks.

You will drive strategic efforts to improve network safety, introduce new products to core networks, guide SDN stack contributions, enhance incident tooling and oversee Tier-1 emergency responses and root-cause analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• 3 years of experience managing people or teams.
• 3 years of experience leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software/Systems Engineers on projects for users and uptime.
• Own end-to-end availability and performance of key services; build automation to prevent recurrence.
• Lead by example, mentor the team and establish credibility through quality technical execution.
• Manage and take active part in on-call rotations.
• Design, write and deliver software to improve availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of Google's services.
