Job summary

Google in Dublin, Ireland, seeks an Engineering Manager for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead the AlphaNet Core SRE team responsible for Google's SDN architecture across campus aggregation and wide-area networks.

You will drive strategic efforts to improve network safety, introduce new products to core networks, guide SDN stack contributions, enhance incident tooling and oversee Tier-1 emergency responses and root-cause analyses.

• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Google's services—both our internally critical and our externally visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement. As the Engineering Manager for AlphaNet Core SRE, you will lead a team that operates Google's Software-Defined Networking (SDN) architecture across our campus aggregation and wide-area production networks.

In this role, you will drive strategic efforts to improve network safety and introduce new products to the core networks. You will guide your team's contributions to the SDN stack, improve incident response tooling, and oversee Tier-1 emergency responses as well as root-cause analyses.
