Job summary

Twilio in Ireland is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Voice Connectivity Trust team. You will design, implement, and operate real-time services with high throughput and low latency across a distributed platform.

You will collaborate with product managers, architects and cross-functional teams, own services end-to-end, and help scale globally while maintaining reliability and media fidelity. You will participate in on-call rotations and mentoring to strengthen the team.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and JVM-based tech stacks.
• Strong CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time services with high throughput and low latency requirements.
• Own, operate and maintain services in a distributed production environment.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable voice solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor teammates; participate in incident response.
