Job summary

Partner Company in Ireland seeks a Staff Engineer, Platform & Infrastructure to own the cloud infrastructure powering a modern developer platform. You will lead BYOC and private-cloud deployments, implement IaC and GitOps, and define SLOs with strong data infrastructure ownership.

In a remote-first team, you will influence platform strategy, drive reliability, security, and scalable delivery, collaborating with product and engineering to satisfy customer needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or related roles.
• Hands-on Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with BYOC, single-tenant, on-premises, or air-gapped environments.
• Strong AWS expertise; familiarity with GCP and Azure a plus.
• Advanced Terraform skills: modular design, secure state, multi-account architectures.
• Strong PostgreSQL expertise: performance, migrations, replication, reliability.
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO audits, penetration testing, and enterprise security reviews.
• Solid understanding of observability, incident response, deployment automation, and production ops.
• Familiarity with TypeScript/Node.js from a platform perspective.
• Strong product mindset and developer empathy; translate customer problems into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale the cloud infrastructure supporting the platform.
• Lead BYOC and private-cloud deployments, including provisioning, upgrades, and observability.
• Build and improve Infrastructure as Code and GitOps foundations for a small team.
• Establish reliability via SLOs, monitoring, and incident-management practices.
• Evolve critical data infrastructure (PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, ClickHouse) at scale.
• Drive security and compliance initiatives (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, audits).
• Make architectural decisions balancing scalability, reliability, security, and speed.
• Collaborate with customer-facing and engineering teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and broader company strategy.
• Participate in incident response and unblock complex technical problems.
