Partner Company in Ireland seeks an experienced Platform Architect to design and evolve scalable cloud platforms for global clients in pharma and life sciences. You will work across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD, delivering robust, secure solutions while mentoring engineers and supporting pre-sales activities.

The role blends hands-on architecture with client advisory, technical leadership, and project ownership in a fully remote, international environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or related field.
• Hands-on with AWS and Azure, and IaC/automation tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Solid Linux, networking fundamentals (DNS, VPNs, TCP/IP, firewalls).
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Programming experience to contribute to automation and workflows.
• Proven ability to manage projects, priorities, and work in distributed teams.
• Experience working remotely with strong time management and communication skills.
• Consulting or client-facing background with ability to translate business needs to technical solutions.
• Pre-sales engineering experience or interest in developing it.
• Business awareness balancing technical excellence with client concerns.
• C1 English proficiency in written and spoken communication.
• Comfort working across Europe and US time zones.
• Valuable assets: AWS/Azure certifications, data tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable cloud platforms across AWS and Azure.
• Develop infrastructure automation with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Architect containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes; provide technical guidance.
• Advise clients on cloud architecture, trade-offs, and implementation approaches.
• Lead small technical teams and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and sales to shape solutions.
• Participate in pre-sales activities and proposal support.
• Apply Agile/Scrum practices to coordinate delivery across distributed teams.
• Own platform architecture from discovery to delivery guidance.
• Manage multiple priorities with strong communication across time zones.
