Job summary

Our Lady’s Manor in Dalkey, Co. Dublin, is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our established team. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered care, administer medications, and work with a multidisciplinary team to meet residents’ physical and emotional needs.

We offer ongoing training, support for professional development and a friendly, supportive working environment. The role is full-time, permanent, with 39 hours per week and 12-hour shifts (days/nights/weekends required).

Qualifications

  • Active Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in elderly care.
  • English language skills (written and verbal).
  • Good understanding of HIQA standards and inspection frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred nursing care to elderly residents, addressing physical, clinical and emotional needs.
  • Administer medications and perform clinical procedures per NMBI guidelines and internal policies.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans using our electronic management system.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, GPs and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure HIQA regulations and national standards are met in residential care.
  • Support and collaborate with Healthcare Assistants and care team members.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team at Our Lady’s Manor in Dalkey. We are a well-established, highly regarded nursing home committed to providing the highest standard of person-centred care to our residents in a safe, warm and nurturing environment.

As a Staff Nurse, you will work alongside an experienced team of healthcare professionals, delivering excellent clinical and emotional care while ensuring compliance with HIQA standards. We invest significantly in our staff through ongoing training, career development and a supportive, friendly work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to elderly residents, ensuring their physical, clinical and emotional needs are met.
  • Administer medications and perform clinical procedures in accordance with NMBI guidelines and internal policies.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans for residents using our electronic management system.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, GPs and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA regulations and national standards in residential care.
  • Support, mentor and work collaboratively with Healthcare Assistants and care team members.
Requirements:
  • Must be an active Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in elderly care/residential care setting.
  • Valid work authorisation/visa to work full‑time in Ireland.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal English language skills.
  • Good understanding of HIQA standards and inspection frameworks.
  • Must complete Garda Vetting and provide two professional, contactable references.
  • Computer literate and able to work well on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
Desired:
  • Recognised post-graduate qualification or evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) in Care of the Older Person.
