Job summary

Cadence is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to design, build, and maintain automation frameworks and virtualization platforms supporting global engineering environments. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure automation, cloud integration, and platform engineering, collaborating with senior architects and mentoring engineers.

In this role, you will contribute to Terraform/Ansible-based IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools, while supporting on‑premises and hybrid cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of infrastructure engineering experience with automation focus.
• Expert-level Terraform for multi-environment deployments.
• Hands-on Ansible for configuration management and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible for multi-environment deployments.
• Write Python and Bash automation scripts to reduce manual overhead and support CI/CD.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions to automate deployments and policy-as-code.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as Nutanix Prism, VMware vSphere/ESXi, and KVM/QEMU.
• Support hybrid cloud operations across AWS and Azure with GitOps workflows.
• Contribute to architecture discussions on automation, virtualization, HCI, and cloud integration.
• Document automation frameworks, runbooks, and standards for consistency.
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming and code reviews.
