Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Sr. Staff Platform Operations Engineer to design, deploy, and run our Linux-based infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments. You will own deployment, reliability, and automated management using IaC and security-first practices.

Lead automation with Terraform, Ansible, Foreman/MaaS and drive best practices for security, patching, and compliance. You will mentor peers and contribute to scalable, high-availability systems for critical workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 8+ years of equivalent experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Deep Linux systems administration experience (Red Hat, Rocky, Ubuntu) and CLI mastery.
• Strong Python and shell scripting for automation and tooling.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and version control (Terraform, Ansible, Git).
• Hybrid infrastructure management with on-premise and cloud exposure; OpenStack, networking, AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage arrays (Dell PowerStore, Pure Storage) and storage provisioning/ tuning.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and support on-premise and cloud-based Linux infrastructure and core IT services.
• Develop and champion Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Foreman/MaaS).
• Automate system security practices including patching, hardening, and configuration management for compliance.
• Build deployment pipelines for IT infrastructure services using GitHub/Git, Ansible, and scripting tools.
• Collaborate with IT Systems, CloudOps, Security, and Engineering to design scalable solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Design and administer enterprise storage platforms, ensuring performance and high availability.
• Mentor junior team members.
