Job summary

Cadence Design Systems in Cork or Dublin, Ireland, seeks a Staff Infrastructure Automation Engineer to build automation platforms, IaC, and self-service tooling across hybrid cloud environments. You will design, implement, and operate automation solutions using Python, Terraform, Ansible, and API-driven integrations.

The role emphasizes software engineering practices, platform architecture, and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or DevOps roles.
• Strong Python development skills with production-quality automation services, APIs, or developer tools.
• Experience with API integration, automation architecture, and distributed systems concepts.
• Expert-level Terraform and Ansible experience with modular design and large-scale automation.
• Experience in GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation-first operational models.
• Experience with Nutanix, VMware, KVM virtualization platforms and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure automation platforms and services using Python and IaC.
• Build reusable Terraform modules and Ansible frameworks for self-service infrastructure deployment.
• Develop API-driven automation solutions and automation workflows across cloud environments.
• Write well-tested Python code and implement REST API integrations and orchestration frameworks.
• Lead CI/CD and DevOps practices, implement automated testing, and promote coding standards.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and drive platform engineering standards.
