Job summary

Cloudera seeks a Sr. Staff Platform Operations Engineer to design, deploy, and run the internal Linux-based platform used by our engineers and business teams.

You will own deployment, reliability, and automated management across on‑premise and cloud environments, applying security-first, IaC-driven approaches. You will lead with Terraform, Ansible, and Foreman/MaaS, collaborating with IT, CloudOps, Security, and Engineering to deliver scalable, compliant infrastructure and robust storage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 8+ years of equivalent experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Deep, expert-level Linux systems administration experience (Red Hat/Rocky/Ubuntu) and mastery of CLI tools.
• Strong Python and shell scripting for automation, tooling, and integration.
• Proven IaC experience (Terraform, Ansible) and Git workflow exposure.
• Hybrid infrastructure experience (on‑prem virtualization/OpenStack, networking) with cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and support on-premise and cloud-based Linux infrastructure and core IT services.
• Develop, maintain, and champion IaC and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Foreman/MaaS).
• Implement system security best practices: patching, hardening, configuration management.
• Build deployment pipelines for IT infrastructure services using GitHub/Git and scripting tools.
• Collaborate with IT Systems, CloudOps, Security, and Engineering to design robust solutions.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation with documented runbooks.
