Job summary

Klaviyo in Dublin is seeking a Director of Site Reliability Engineering to build and lead our SRE function from our new strategic hub in Ireland. You will shape the vision, recruit a world‑class team, and partner with product and platform groups to embed reliability across the full software lifecycle.

The role demands 12+ years in software, 5+ years in leadership, cloud-native systems, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and a penchant for blameless postmortems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in a leadership role managing SRE teams.
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams, ideally establishing a new team or office.
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud-native production systems at scale (AWS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a unified SRE organization and mentor a multi-disciplinary team in Dublin.
• Drive a reliable by design philosophy and embed reliability into the software lifecycle across design and production.
• Own platform integrity including availability, latency, performance, and capacity planning for Klaviyo’s global platform.
• Develop automated, self-service tooling and infrastructure to enable teams to move fast with quality.
• Lead incidents, drive blameless post-mortems, and implement systemic improvements.
