Job summary

Orange Recruitment, in partnership with the National Council for Special Education (NCSE), invites applications from Staff Grade and Senior Grade Speech and Language Therapists to join the Education Therapy Service across Ireland.

Roles involve delivering education-based SLT within schools, collaborating with teachers and families, and providing teacher professional learning. Senior Grade therapists may lead, supervise staff and contribute to service improvements nationwide.

Qualifications

• Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
• High standard of professional knowledge and communication skills for the role.

Responsibilities

Orange Recruitment, in partnership with the National Council for Special Education (NCSE), is delighted to invite applications from Staff Grade and Senior Grade Speech and Language Therapists to join the rapidly expanding Education Therapy Service (ETS).

This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to inclusive education and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Ireland. As part of the NCSE's interdisciplinary regional teams, you will play a key role in promoting participation, independence and wellbeing for children and young people within their school environments.

The Role

As a Staff Grade or Senior Grade Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

• Deliver education-based, evidence-informed Speech and Language Therapy within a multi-tiered model of support (universal, targeted and individual)
• Work collaboratively with teachers, school leaders, parents and existing children's services to enhance student inclusion, participation and engagement
• Provide Teacher Professional Learning (TPL), including seminars, coaching, modelling and in-school support
• Identify needs, plan, implement and evaluate interventions within school settings
• Develop and share resources that support learning, communication and participation
• Maintain high professional standards, documentation and reflective practice
• Contribute to the continued development of the NCSE Education Therapy Service

In addition, Senior Grade therapists will:

• Provide leadership and day-to-day support within the service
• Supervise and mentor Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapists
• Support workload planning, prioritisation and service delivery
• Lead the development and evaluation of evidence-informed interventions and service improvements
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, training and professional development activities across the service

Roles may involve working directly with one special school or supporting a cluster of schools within a defined geographic area. Therapists will be assigned to schools within their local region.

Essential Requirements – Staff Grade

• Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU
• High standard of professional knowledge, communication skills and suitability for the role
• Commitment to collaborative, child-centred, education-focused practice

Essential Requirements – Senior Grade

• Registered with the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU
• Minimum three years' experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
• Experience delivering Speech and Language Therapy supports within schools
• Experience developing and delivering profession-related workshops and/or seminars
• Experience liaising and collaborating with other professionals and disciplines
• High standard of professional knowledge, communication skills and suitability for the role
