Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing is recruiting a Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team in Mullingar. The role involves delivering paediatric SLT services to children and young people with developmental and complex needs within a family-centred model.

You will work with families, schools and multidisciplinary colleagues to support communication, feeding and functional goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and CORU registration.
• Relevant clinical or placement experience.
• Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with speech, language, and feeding/swallowing difficulties.
• Manage a varied paediatric disability caseload within a community setting.
• Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes and care plans.
• Support children with communication development, speech sounds, social interaction, language skills, and functional communication needs.
• Work with families, schools, and multidisciplinary colleagues in care planning and service development.

Speech And Language Therapist - Co. Westmeath

We are currently recruiting a Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Mullingar.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary paediatric disability team providing Speech and Language Therapy services to children and young people with a range of developmental and complex needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary colleagues to support children in achieving their communication, feeding, and functional goals within a family-centred model of care.

Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:

• Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children presenting with speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties
• Manage a varied paediatric disability caseload within a community setting
• Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes and care plans
• Support children with communication development, speech sound difficulties, social interaction, language skills, and functional communication needs
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, and multidisciplinary team members including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, and Nursing
• Deliver education and support to families and caregivers
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reports
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, supervision, and service development initiatives

Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapist:

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• CORU registration
• Relevant clinical or placement experience
• Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

• Experience working within paediatrics, disability services, or CDNT settings
• Experience supporting children with ASD, developmental delay, or complex communication needs
• Full driver's licence and access to own transport
