Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing is seeking Staff Grade and Senior Speech and Language Therapists to join their Adult and Paediatric Primary Care Teams in Leinster, Ireland. Job description

We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Speech and Language Therapists to join Adult and Paediatric Primary Care Teams across Louth and Meath.

These are exciting opportunities to work within supportive multidisciplinary teams delivering high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services across community and primary care settings. Roles are available within both adult and paediatric services depending on the successful candidate’s experience and clinical interests.

Key Responsibilities for the Speech and Language Therapists:
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults or children presenting with communication and/or swallowing difficulties
  • Manage a varied caseload within a primary care setting
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes and care plans
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, schools, GPs, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Deliver education and support to service users, families, and staff
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reports in line with professional standards
  • Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and service development initiatives
Senior Grade Responsibilities (in addition to above)
  • Manage complex clinical caseloads
  • Provide clinical support and supervision to junior staff and students
  • Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support leadership within the Speech and Language Therapy service
Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapists:
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • CORU registration
  • For Staff Grade: relevant clinical or placement experience
  • For Senior Grade: minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable
  • Experience in adult primary care, paediatrics, disability, rehabilitation, or community services
  • Experience with dysphagia, ASD, developmental language disorder, or acquired communication difficulties
  • Access to own transport and full driver’s licence
