Hawthorn by Galway Bay is seeking a passionate Spa Manager to lead our spa operations, develop the team and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

You will oversee daily operations, bookings, staffing and treatment room presentation while driving business performance and building new packages with hotel management to attract guests and locals.

Qualifications

• A recognised beauty or spa therapy qualification is required.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing a team.
• Strong knowledge of spa operations, treatment standards and guest care.
• Commercial awareness with budgeting and stock control experience.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Confidence using spa booking systems and handling administration.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.

Hawthorn by Galway Bay, part of the Connacht Hospitality Group, is seeking a passionate and experienced Spa Manager to lead our spa operations, develop our team and create an exceptional experience for every guest.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines a passion for wellness with strong leadership and commercial skills. You will play a key role in shaping our spa offering, driving its success and ensuring every aspect of the service reflects the care and attention our guests expect.

Your Role

As Spa Manager, you will take responsibility for the daily operation and performance of the spa, ensuring every guest receives a personalised and memorable experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the team: Recruit, train and support the spa team, building confidence, expertise and a strong service culture.
• Delivering exceptional guest care: Maintain high standards across treatments, consultations and all guest interactions.
• Managing daily operations: Oversee bookings, staffing, rosters and treatment room presentation to ensure a seamless service.
• Driving business performance: Manage budgets, monitor results and grow treatment bookings, retail sales and repeat visits.
• Maintaining standards: Ensure hygiene, health and safety, treatment protocols and equipment care are consistently upheld.
• Managing stock and suppliers: Oversee product ordering, stock control and supplier relationships.
• Building the spa offering: Work with hotel management and marketing to develop packages, promotions and opportunities to attract hotel guests and local clients.
• Listening and improving: Respond professionally to guest feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the experience.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

• Previous experience as a Spa Manager or an experienced Assistant Spa Manager ready to take the next step.
• A recognised qualification in beauty or spa therapy.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing a team.
• A strong understanding of spa operations, treatment standards and guest care.
• Commercial awareness, with experience in sales, targets, budgeting and stock control.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Confidence using spa booking systems and managing administrative responsibilities.
• Flexibility to work in line with business needs, including weekends and public holidays.
