Job summary

The Maryborough Hotel is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You will lead across all sections, guide chefs, and ensure high standards of food quality and presentation in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef.
• Proven ability to manage the bar/restaurant section.
• Strong knowledge of the food industry and current culinary trends.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Positive attitude and strong team-working ethic.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide chefs across all kitchen sections.
• Take responsibility for managing the bar section when required.
• Ensure high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and organisation.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and senior management.
• Demonstrate strong time management in a fast-paced environment.
• Stay informed on food industry trends and best practices.
