Job summary

ASIAN KITCHEN in Killybegs, Co. Donegal, invites applications for an experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef, run daily kitchen operations, supervise staff and ensure high-quality dishes with strict hygiene.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience and Level 6 qualification (Higher Advanced Certificate/National Craft). Desirable skills include leadership, teamwork, HACCP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience as Sous Chef.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with menu planning, prep and cooking to consistent standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas and equipment.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Sous Chef to join our team. You will assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen smoothly, supervise daily operations, prepare high-quality dishes, and maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, food preparation and cooking to consistent standards
• Supervise and support kitchen staff, assign tasks and ensure efficient workflow
• Manage inventory, check stock levels and place orders as needed
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food hygiene regulations and workplace health & safety rules
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas and equipment
• Step in to lead the kitchen when the Head Chef is absent
