Job summary

Cpl Healthcare is seeking a Social Care Worker for an agency position in Cork to provide care to adolescents in a mainstream residential unit. You will help create a welcoming environment and support educational activities.

You will observe and record progress, support family contact, and adhere to policies and reporting requirements. CORU registration is required, with roster flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adolescents in a residential/care setting.
• Experience handling challenging behaviour is advantageous.
• CORU registration is required or in process.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to adolescents aged 12–17 in a residential unit.

• Facilitate a programme of engaging activities for young people.
• Update and maintain relevant unit records regularly.

Social Care Worker required for role providing care to adolescents in a residential care environment.

Job Specification:

• Provide care and support to adolescents from ages 12 – 17 years in the care of my client’s services.
• To contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming and caring environment and to a high standard of child care practice throughout the unit.
• To contribute to the provision of a programme of stimulating activities for the children and young people.
• To ensure that all relevant records within the unit are updated regularly.
• Provide support to young people to engage with educational activities.
• Support young people in maintaining contact and access visits with their family.
• Adhere to the organisational policies and reporting requirements.
• Observing and recording observations of the young people in the care of the service.

Person Specification:

• Experience working with adolescents ideally in a residential/care environment.
• Experience working with challenging behaviour is advantageous.
