Job summary

Enable Ireland in Arklow, Wicklow (CHO6) is seeking a highly-motivated Social Care Worker to join our Adult Day Service. This part-time role supports adults with physical/sensory or mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in a quality framework, providing daily life support tailored to individual needs.

The post offers a specified purpose contract, up to 30 hours per week, with a pro rata salary of €39,160–€54,746 and generous annual leave. Closing date 09/10/2026.

Qualifications

• Hold a professional registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU.
• Have a Schedule 3 qualification.
• Or have a comparable qualification recognised by CORU.
• Annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register on appointment.
• Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans.
• Experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker.
• Experience of delivering personal care.
• Experience of assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication.
• Experience of engaging in professional supervision.
• Possess a full, clean, manual driving licence.
• Experience of working with adults and families with disabilities.
• Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Adult Day Service supporting adults with physical and/or sensory or mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
• Support individuals with daily life activities in accordance with their needs and preferences.
• Contribute to a quality framework and team-based care planning.

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Social Care Worker to join our team in Arklow, Wicklow (CHO6). We have part-time opportunities within our team in our Arklow Adult’s Day Service.

Contract Type: Specified Purpose Post

Contract Hours: Part time hours considered up to a maximum of 30 per week.

Salary Scale: €39,160– €54,746 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 31 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post:

To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in an Adult Day Service working with adults with physical and/or sensory or mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, within a quality framework. The post holder will support the individuals accessing the service with all aspects of their daily lives in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.

The successful candidate will have:

1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

• Hold a professional registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.

AND

• Have a Schedule 3 qualification.

OR

• Have a comparable qualification recognised by Social Care Workers Registration Board.

AND

• Candidates must have the knowledge, skills, and suitability required to perform the role effectively.

2. Annual Registration

• On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.

3. Additional Criteria:

• Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans.
• Experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker.
• Experience of delivering personal care.
• Experience of assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication.
• Experience of engaging in professional supervision.
