Social Care Manager

About the role

As a Social Care Manager, your day-to-day will be dynamic and impactful. You will lead the operational management of the residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care are met. This includes staff supervision, care planning, and fostering a positive, therapeutic environment for the young people we support. You'll be a key player in our expansion, contributing your expertise to new projects and service development.

Who We Are

Rainbow Community Services is an independent and private organisation that was established in 2005, and provides a range of residential services to young people aged 12-19 years.

Our ethos of care is underpinned by the core values of respect for our clients, partnership, empowerment, holistic development and solution focused interventions.

The Child Care Act 1991 requires TUSLA to provide care for a child by placing him or her in residential or foster care. Rainbow has been sub contracted by TUSLA and is in a contractually binding agreement to provide / complement the existing community based residential services operated by TUSLA.

Required Criteria
  • A relevant qualification in Social Care or a related field
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Standards for Residential Centres and relevant legislation
  • Must meet one of the following criteria: 2 years' experience as a Social Care Leader in Children's Mainstream Residential Care; OR a QQI Level 8 in a relevant field with 2 years' post-qualification experience; OR a QQI Level 7 in a relevant field with 3 years' post-qualification experience and enrollment in a management/supervisory program; OR a professional qualification in Social Work with 3 years' post-qualification experience and enrollment in a management/supervisory program.
  • Hold a relevant qualification at QQI Level 7 or above in fields such as Social Care, Psychology, Social Science, Youth and Community, or similar.
  • Registered or have submitted an application for registration with CORU.
  • Demonstrable history of competence in all aspects of management.
  • Registered or registration submitted with CORU.
  • A required Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a social care background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with management and staff at all levels.
  • A minimum of four years' experience working with young people in residential care prior to commencing the role is required.
