Job summary

Conack, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing construction companies, seeks an experienced Site Manager to lead a significant restoration and conservation project in Westport. You will oversee site operations, manage teams and specialist subcontractors, ensuring high-quality, safe work that respects conservation requirements while maintaining programme and budget.

Working on historic structures with opportunities for ownership of the site and collaboration with engineers, designers and conservation

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a Site Manager role or similar.
• Proven experience managing restoration, conservation, refurbishment or heritage projects.
• Strong understanding of working within existing and/or protected structures.
• Experience coordinating specialist trades and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of quality control and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements in Ireland.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction details.
• Proven experience delivering projects in Ireland.
• Relevant restoration/conservation experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of the project, from mobilisation through to completion
• Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, specialist trades and suppliers
• Manage works involving the restoration, refurbishment and conservation of existing structures
• Ensure conservation and restoration works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Coordinate specialist trades and ensure a high level of workmanship and attention to detail
• Monitor site progress, quality and programme schedules
• Manage interfaces between conservation, restoration and new-build works
• Work closely with the Project Manager, engineers, design team and conservation specialists
• Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently while maintaining progress
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with health & safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Maintain accurate site records and ensure works are properly documented
• Coordinate materials, plant and resources to ensure the project remains on programme
• Ensure all works are delivered to a high standard while respecting the existing character and fabric of the buildings

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a significant restoration and conservation project in Westport. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of site operations on a project involving the restoration and conservation of existing and historic structures, alongside new-build elements and associated external works. What We’re Looking For
