Foreman / Senior Site Foreman

The Role
A well-established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Foreman / Senior Site Foreman to oversee and coordinate operations across active sites in the Westport area.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to join a busy team delivering a variety of residential, commercial, renovation, retrofit, and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily site operations across multiple active projects.
- Supervise site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and plant resources.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and housekeeping on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout all stages of construction.
- Coordinate deliveries, materials, labour allocation, and subcontractor activities.
- Identify and resolve site issues efficiently to minimise delays and disruptions.
- Liaise effectively with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and design teams.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Ensure accurate completion of site records, daily reports, and Health & Safety documentation.
- Foster a positive and productive working environment focused on teamwork and excellence.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Foreman, Site Foreman, or Site Supervisor role.
- Proven experience managing residential, commercial, and/or industrial construction projects.
- Strong ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and site coordination.
- Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Trade qualification, ideally Carpentry or a related construction discipline.
- Construction management qualification.
- Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and First Aid certification.
- Experience with BCAR compliance and quality assurance processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
