Job summary

Sisk Group is looking for an Engineer to set out the site and manage dimensional controls on projects across Ireland. You will ensure tolerances, liaise with planners, and support quality and safety on site.

You will supervise junior engineers, integrate digital tools, and contribute to inspections and testing data. A minimum of three years post-qualification experience is required, with BIM knowledge desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering is essential.
• SMSTS or MSIC certification required.
• First Aid training is required.
• Lifting Supervisor certification is preferred.
• Temporary Works Coordinator training is desirable.
• Chartered or working towards membership with Engineers Ireland or ICE is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set out works in line with drawings, specifications and site surveys.
• Liaise with planners to align programmes and supplier outputs.
• Check materials and works in progress for compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Contribute to Inspection and Test Plans and ensure data from the supply chain.
• Raise and resolve RFIs with client representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory bodies.
• Maintain quality control and records as per method statements and procedures.
• Review subcontractor drawings for correct contract records and specifications.
• Ensure purchase orders define technical requirements.
• Conduct audits of DPD compliance and performance across projects.
• Integrate digital tools into construction, design and planning processes.
• Supervise and mentor junior or trainee engineers.
• Provide input into measurement and valuation with the project QS.
• Maintain site diaries and prepare reports.
• Carry out pre-start condition surveys.
• Manage delivered materials including concrete, reinforcement and structural products.
• Assist with installation of site facilities such as hoardings and accommodation.
• Carry out snagging and de-snagging before handover.
• Support safe working practices by reviewing subcontractor safety plans and method statements.
• Develop own skills and mentor others.
