Job summary

Ward Personnel is recruiting an experienced Site Engineer for a large mixed development project in Drumcondra, Dublin 7. The role is suited to an engineer with 2–3 years’ experience eager to advance within a busy construction team.

You will work closely with the Construction Management Team, oversee day‑to‑day engineering, quality controls and site documentation while coordinating with subcontractors and on‑site personnel. The position offers scope for progression and a competitive package.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Civil Engineering or construction qualification.
  • 2–3 years’ experience with a building/main contractor.
  • Strong setting-out experience using surveying instruments.
  • Good understanding of drawings, specs and quality procedures.
  • Strong IT and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out setting out and levelling across the project.
  • Manage quality control activities, including concrete cube sampling and slump testing.
  • Inspect shuttering, reinforcement and dimensions prior to concrete pours.
  • Maintain accurate material reconciliation records.
  • Complete and maintain site diaries, engineering records and quality documentation.
  • Upload and manage relevant project information through the Document Management System (DMS).
  • Coordinate and supervise direct employees and subcontractors on site.
  • Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider construction team to ensure works progress in accordance with programme and specification.
  • Ensure all works comply with company health & safety, environmental and quality procedures.
  • Identify potential site issues and work proactively with the project team to resolve them.

Job description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Site Engineer for a building contractor working on a large mixed development in Drumcondra, Dublin 7

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer with 2–3+ years’ experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will work closely with the Construction Management Team and play a key role in the day-to-day engineering, quality and coordination of works on site.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Engineer

  • Organised, proactive and solutions-focused.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, site management and other project stakeholders.
