Job summary

RT.Lane is seeking a Senior Site Engineer for an on-site role in Cork to support a pharmaceutical project. You will manage on-site operations, ensure delivery on time and within budget, and uphold high safety and quality standards.

You will oversee day-to-day activities, coordinate subcontractors, set out works with surveying tools, monitor progress, and report to senior engineers. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of planning and scheduling experience.
• Experience on medium to large-scale construction projects.

Job description

The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for managing on-site operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality and safety standards.

Key Activities

• Oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring all work aligns with project plans, schedules, and specifications.
• Monitor project progress, prepare detailed updates for the project manager, and maintain accurate records of site activities in the daily site diary.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring efficient workflows and quality output.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure construction adheres to technical drawings, quality standards, and project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare management systems by conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Set out site works using robotic total stations, GPS, and other surveying tools, ensuring accurate measurements and layouts.
• Manage plant, labour, and materials, including monitoring day-work activities and liaising with suppliers for timely orders.
• Address technical issues on-site, interpret drawings, and communicate design changes or construction challenges to the team.
• Act as the primary point of contact on-site for contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Report regularly to senior engineers or management on project progress, resource requirements, and any issues affecting timelines or budgets.
• Collaborate with clients and consultants to resolve queries and maintain satisfaction while upholding the company's standards for quality and professionalism.
