Job summary

NexVentur Group is seeking a Site Engineer for civil infrastructure and bridge projects in the Mayo/ Galway region, Ireland. You will join a dedicated team delivering critical works with a focus on setting out, surveying and quality control.

We welcome applicants with 2–6 years in civil engineering, especially bridge construction, and a degree in Civil Engineering. This full-time, project-based role offers progression within an established team and hands-on site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related construction discipline.
• Approximately 2–6 years’ experience in a Site Engineer or similar civil engineering role.
• Bridge construction experience is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of setting out, surveying and construction methods.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar engineering software.
• Familiarity with digital project management and information systems.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a site team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of civil engineering projects.
• Carry out setting out, surveying, site measurements and quality inspections.
• Coordinate daily site activities with the Senior Site Engineer, Site Agent, Construction Manager, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor construction works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to support project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, progress reporting and maintaining accurate site records.
• Monitor productivity, material usage and plant efficiency.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in coordination with the wider project team.
• Maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join a civil infrastructure team working on projects across the Mayo and Galway region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer with 2–6 years’ experience in civil engineering, particularly bridge construction or infrastructure projects, to join a team delivering important civil engineering works.

We are open to candidates at different stages of their careers, from engineers with a minimum of two years’ relevant experience to more experienced Site Engineers looking for their next opportunity.
