Job summary

Morris's Builders Providers is seeking a Retail Assistant/Designer to work primarily in showrooms with the potential to move to other areas. The role involves engaging customers, identifying sales opportunities and guiding clients from initial consultation to final design, while delivering high levels of customer service.

Reporting to the retail manager, this full-time position requires 39 hours per week, with availability Sunday to Saturday and on bank holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing role with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of design software like ArtiCAD/AutoCAD; training provided.
• Minimum 3 years of retail/design experience.
• Attention to detail and strong design eye.
• Motivated, target-driven with proven sales track record.
• Strong computer skills.
• Good time management in a busy environment.
• Energetic and able to work towards goals with minimal supervision.
• Capable of meeting deadlines.
• Desire to excel at sales with proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to proactively generate leads and enquiries.
• Understand customer needs and generate creative design ideas.
• Liaise with customers from initial meeting through to completion.
• Produce accurate quotations in line with customer's budget.
• Upsell our full range of products and services.
• Learn and use design software to create detailed and accurate design plans.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Maintain showroom standards and update point of sale information.
• Take responsibility for resolving customer issues pre-sales and post-sale promptly.
• Merchandising and maintenance of all categories of stock.
• Processing Cash/Account counter sales.
• Keep up to date with new products and product knowledge.
• Assist with stock takes as required.
• Be flexible and undertake other work as assigned.
