Job summary

Marks and Spencer is seeking a Shift Lead for a full-time role in our store. You will lead the fill operation, coordinate resources to Serve, Sell and Fill, and act as floor lead in the absence of management.

You will coach colleagues on efficiency for store opening, maintain clean and safe presentation, and ensure a quick payment experience. A strong customer focus and inclusive team leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Good level of digital capability and can access and utilise relevant systems.
• Good knowledge of the commercial operation, brilliant basics and operational excellence.
• Current working knowledge of all VM principles.
• A good communicator with the ability to build relationships and work within a team.
• A good knowledge of the legal requirements associated with the role of a customer assistant and when duty managing.
• Maintain high presentation standards, attention to detail and deliver on time, right first time.
• Interpret data relevant to the role.
• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change.

Responsibilities

• Lead the fill operation, delivering a sales floor that is ready to trade and coordinate resources to Serve, Sell and Fill.
• Coach colleagues on One Best Way and drive productivity for store opening.
• Allocate resources to deliver a quick payment experience.
• Enable daily operational processes across all store areas at the correct times.
• Coordinate the team to keep the store clean, safe and well-presented.
• Foster an inclusive team atmosphere and strong colleague engagement.
• Be a role model for great customer service and M&S behaviours.
• Support Colleague Managers by sharing observations to drive high performance.
• Assist nearby stores if needed.
• Act as a key holder and respond to call outs as required.
• Oversee opening/closing tasks including vehicle receipt, temperature controls, Helpdesk logging, cash handling and TSL compliance in peripheral hours.
