Job summary

Marks and Spencer is seeking a Shift Lead to manage the fill operation and lead the sales floor, ensuring readiness for trading. You will coordinate resources to serve, sell and fill, and assume floor leadership in the absence of the Colleague Manager.

The role emphasizes coaching colleagues, maintaining a safe, well-presented store, and delivering high customer service while aligning with M&S behaviours and expectations.

Qualifications

• Retail or store operations experience is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate resources and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates customer-focused service and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resource to deliver operational tasks during the fill operation and in the absence of the Colleague Manager
• Lead the fill operation, coaching colleagues on One Best Way and driving productivity for store readiness
• Allocate resource effectively to deliver a quick payment experience
• Enable daily operational processes across the store area at the correct times
• Coordinate the team to deliver a clean, safe and well-presented store
• Create a great team atmosphere that is inclusive of everyone
• Role model great Customer Service and M&S behaviours across the store
• Support Colleague Managers by sharing observations to drive high performance
• Support nearby stores if operationally required
• Be a key holder and handle call outs as required
• Open/close building tasks including receipt of vehicles, temperature controls, helpdesks, cash handling and TSL compliance
