Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is assisting a major Irish contractor to hire a Setting Out Engineer for a high-end refurbishment project in Co. Clare.

This permanent, full-time role focuses on precise setting out, levelling and surveying on site to meet strict drawings and specifications. You will work closely with site management and subcontractors, maintain detailed records, and ensure health and safety requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Setting Out Engineer or similar in construction.
• Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Strong understanding of setting out techniques and site surveying.
• Proficient with surveying equipment and related software.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

About Your New Role as Setting Out Engineer

As a Setting Out Engineer, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out and calibration of works on site on a high end refit development, ensuring that all measurements and technical specifications are met throughout the construction process. You will work closely with site management and subcontractors to guarantee project requirements are fulfilled to the highest standards. Main responsibilities include:

• Accurately setting out, levelling, and surveying the construction site.
• Interpreting project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance during execution.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment on technical aspects.
• Maintaining detailed site records and reporting on progress and technical issues.
