O Flynn Medical are currently looking to recruit a Service Technician based at our Macroom Facility. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join a leading and expanding Healthcare company. The candidate should be highly motivated, ambitious, and dedicated. The successful candidate will report directly to the Service Manager and will correspond with the Engineering Administration team on a daily basis. The primary function of this position is to repair and service O’ Flynn Medical’s fleet of Rental Medical Equipment such as Beds, Hoists, Air Mattresses, Scrub Management Systems & other medical equipment. This will entail working at our Service and Decontamination facility in Macroom and also on site at various location throughout Ireland.
To inspect, repair and service medical equipment following decontamination at the Macroom facility.
To inspect, repair and service medical equipment at customer locations.
Co-ordinate & conduct installations, equipment maintenance, repair, and breakdown support at customer sites and to ensure that any work undertaken complies with the relevant manufacturers’ quality procedure relating to that service or activity.
Ensure that equipment downtime is minimal and that your preventative maintenance plans are continually monitored and actioned in a timely manner
Be part of our Scrub Management System installation & commissioning team.
Carry out call-outs & Preventative Maintenance on Scrub Management systems.
Access part codes and services manuals to ensure product service / repair is in line with Manufacturer’s guidelines
Promote the Service Department ensuring a high standard of customer service and satisfaction is achieved at all times
Keep accurate account of warehouse & van stock.
Complete Warehouse & van stock checks as required.
Record stock usage accurately and assist local team to control stock
Maintain a neat, tidy and efficient workplace.
Assist customers with trouble shooting over the phone.
Liaise with suppliers to identify & source spare parts.
Maintain a good working relationship with the Technical Dept. of our Key suppliers.
Use Engineer Mobile App device to record accurately work carried out
Ensure all work is carried out in a safe & efficient manner.
Any other activities as determined necessary by the Service Manager or Operations Manager
Strong diagnostic, fault finding / problem solving, and judgment skills are essential in this role
Good mechanical and electrical knowledge of fault finding.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues throughout the business and utilise a team approach to accomplish goals.
Customer focused with good working knowledge of equipment.
Excellent communication skills, written & verbal
Flexibility & availability to travel when required
Availability to work on an on-call / out of hours rota.
Ability to work on your own initiative
Good organisational and timekeeping skills
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar engineering role in industry desirable
Background in engineering desired
Full clean drivers’ licence
Experience with the healthcare sector would be advantageous
Computer literate
Successful completion of Garda vetting
