Job summary

Securitas Technology Ireland is seeking a Service Engineer to maintain intruder alarm, access control and video surveillance systems across customer sites. You will undertake planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work, providing first-line technical support for fault finding and servicing while ensuring all work is safe, efficient and compliant with standards.

You will work closely with the Service Manager and Service Desk to ensure excellent customer service delivery, manage van

Qualifications

  • Experience with intruder alarms, access control and video surveillance.
  • Sound knowledge of security systems, fire systems and communications.
  • Understanding of IP-based security systems and networking.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain intruder alarm, access control and video surveillance systems to standards across customer sites.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
  • Provide first-line technical support for fault finding and servicing of security systems.
  • Respond to service calls and planned maintenance visits using PDA handheld system.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and Service Desk to ensure excellent customer service delivery.
  • Maintain responsibility for van stock, tools, safety equipment and assigned assets.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and company procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.

Purpose

The Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining, fault-finding, servicing and supporting security systems across customer sites. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with company and industry standards.

Major Responsibilities
  • Maintain intruder alarm, access control and video surveillance systems to required standards and regulations across customer sites.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
  • Provide first-line technical support for fault finding, diagnosis and servicing of security systems.
  • Respond to service calls and planned maintenance visits using the PDA handheld system.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and Service Desk team to ensure excellent customer service delivery.
  • Maintain responsibility for van stock, tools, safety equipment and assigned assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Quality and company procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by the manager.
Experience & Knowledge
  • Sound knowledge of the security systems, fire systems and communications industry.
  • Experience working with intruder alarms, access control and video surveillance systems.
  • Knowledge of systems such as Pacom, Hikvision, HKC and Galaxy.
  • Understanding of IP-based security systems and networking principles.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Competent in the use of PDA/mobile field service systems
