Qualifications

• Proficient with P&IDs, control loops and equipment interfaces.

Job description

An outstanding opportunity for a delivery-focused Senior Project Engineer (Plant & Grey Utilities) to join a market-leading manufacturing biopharmaceutical organisation in Dublin. In this site-based role, you will act as the client-side technical lead, taking full technical ownership of major plant utility systems across the entire lifecycle from construction and installation through to commissioning, qualification, and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

Provide end-to-end technical leadership for assigned plant utility systems (compressors, chilled/cooling water, potable water, heat recovery, pumps, heat exchangers, and associated pipework/instrumentation).

Provide hands‑on field oversight during installation, verify equipment and piping against design specifications, P&IDs, and regulatory standards to proactively resolve constructability and quality issues.

Review and resolve RFIs, technical queries, field change requests, and non-conformances in close collaboration with design teams, specialized vendors, and internal SMEs.

Verify system readiness for hydrostatic testing, flushing, water treatment, and filling. Support hands‑on commissioning alongside CQV and Operations teams to troubleshoot hydraulic and operational performance issues.

Coordinate critical system interfaces with Electrical, Automation/BMS, HVAC, Process Utilities, and CSA disciplines to ensure seamless integration.

Lead punch list closures and manage the transfer of care, custody, and control to Site Operations, facilitating knowledge transfer, maintenance readiness, and vendor support.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree‑level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

8-10+ years of proven experience in building services design, construction, and commissioning within a heavily regulated GMP / Life Sciences environment.

Strong technical background in plant/grey utility systems, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, P&IDs, control loops, and equipment interfaces.

Solid working knowledge of relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards (IS, EN, CIBSE, ASHRAE).

Self‑starter with a strong field presence and the ability to balance competing priorities between construction schedules and operational requirements.

Meticulous approach to verifying system performance with exceptional interpersonal skills to coordinate multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
