Job summary

PSD Group in Ireland is seeking an experienced Technical Writer for a 6-month contract in Letterkenny. You will create, maintain, and optimize documentation for external and internal use, focusing on user-friendly content and clear guidance.

Work with product owners and SMEs to deliver manuals, guides, online help, and system documentation that supports efficient operations and self-service. Eligible candidates should have strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in technical writing for software products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
• Familiarity with document version control systems.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and software engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and optimize user-centric documentation for external and internal content.
• Develop user guides, configuration manuals, online help, and system/process documentation.
• Translate complex concepts into clear, concise content using a user-centered design approach.
• Maintain documentation reflecting product releases and enhancements.
• Contribute to documentation standards, templates, and content governance.
• Manage multiple documentation projects with timelines and dependencies.
• Participate in peer reviews and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop audience-tailored manuals with step-by-step instructions and diagrams.
• Produce API documentation and online help for developers and users.
