Job summary

Azorom Limited is seeking an experienced submarine cables specialist to support the Cables package for an offshore windfarm project in Ireland. The role covers tendering, design, engineering and coordination with contractors, suppliers and technical advisors to ensure safe, on-budget delivery.

Based in Dublin with hybrid working (up to 2 days in the office per month), the successful candidate will bring 10+ years of relevant experience in cable installation, testing, and commercial evaluation,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience.
• Experience with cable installation and testing.
• Experience in technical and commercial evaluation of submarine cable systems.
• Experience in contract preparation and evaluation for vessels and subsea operations.
• Experience in subsea cable laying and burial campaigns, embedment, submersible vehicle operations, vessel positioning and commercial diving procedures.
• Submarine cable design, and development of specifications and employers’ requirements.
• Proficient in SHEQ standards for terrestrial and offshore projects, including familiarity with CDMC/ IMO/ IMCA requirements/ recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management capability and good communication skills. Strong project and programme management capability.
• Experience in managing and delivering complex projects; negotiating agreements and contracts of significant value.
• Good decision making capability and judgement; ability to respond to change in a fast changing business environment.
• Experience in subsea surveys and engineering including interpretation of geotechnical and geophysical reports.

Responsibilities

• Review contractor cable system designs and installation methodologies.
• Coordinate all aspects of tendering including clarifications, technical and commercial evaluations.
• Work with other package teams to manage cross-package interfaces.
• Prepare technical documentation and specifications for internal or contractor use.
• Participate in meetings with contractor representatives at all stages of concept refinement and FEED to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Review offshore site investigation data to optimise burial, protection methodologies and route engineering.
• Produce a cable RPL and review costing for materials and services.
• Support the Project's Package Managers in contract execution and prepare reports for engineering decisions.
• Participate in project execution meetings and audits of contractor facilities including sub-contractors.
• Contribute to safer wind farm delivery and integrate HSE/environmental requirements into delivery strategy.
• Input into risk registers and engineering decision logs; apply OFTO standards.
• Support value management and project optimisation activities within the electrical package team.
