Sony Interactive Entertainment in Dublin is expanding an engineering team to power PlayStation experiences for millions of players worldwide. You will help shape SDK and platform technologies through collaboration with teams in Tokyo and across the globe.

The role focuses on client-side SDKs in C/C++, API design, and high-quality software delivery. We value leadership, collaboration, and the ability to mentor others while delivering scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional C/C++ development experience.
• Experience designing and developing SDKs, frameworks, middleware, or complex client-side software.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, OOD, API design, and best practices.
• Experience with client/server architectures, networking, distributed systems, or platform services.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing design decisions.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain client-side SDKs, middleware, and system software using C/C++.
• Lead technical design discussions and drive architecture decisions for SDK and platform capabilities.
• Design clean, scalable APIs that simplify integration and improve developer experience.
• Analyze product requirements and translate them into robust technical designs and implementation plans.
• Own complex features from design through delivery, ensuring quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, TPMs, QE, and global engineering teams.
• Partner with teams in Tokyo and other locations to align platform capabilities.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability issues.
• Review designs and code while providing mentorship and technical leadership.
• Drive improvements to development processes, branching, release quality, and operational practices.
• Contribute to SDK documentation, sample apps, tooling, and integration guidance.
• Support adoption and evolution of platform technologies across products.
