Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is establishing a new Dublin engineering team focused on client technologies powering PlayStation experiences. The role centers on designing and developing SDKs, middleware, and platform capabilities in C/C++ for scalable PlayStation ecosystems.

You will work with global teams, contribute to APIs and tooling, and help shape engineering practices while collaborating with Product Managers and QA across borders. The position supports hybrid working in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing production software using C/C++.
• Experience developing SDKs, frameworks, middleware, client applications, or other complex software systems.
• Solid understanding of OOD, software architecture, APIs, and best practices.
• Experience with client/server architectures, networking, distributed systems, or platform services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain client-side SDKs, middleware, and system software primarily using C/C++.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of SDK and platform capabilities.
• Develop clean, well-documented APIs to improve developer experience and integration.
• Translate product requirements into technical designs and tasks.
• Own features from implementation through delivery with quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, Quality Engineering, and global teams.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Participate in design and code reviews and improve engineering practices.
