Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and test software powering life-changing medical technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan deliverables, drive architectural decisions, and mentor engineers, all within regulated environments to ensure patient safety and quality.

The role emphasizes Agile practices, high‑quality code, and reusable components, with a focus on scalable software and ongoing improvement across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience, or 2 years with an advanced degree.
• Experience building scalable, maintainable software with strong documentation.
• Experience in regulated environments such as medical devices is a plus.
• Proficiency in Agile, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and modern best practices.
• Proficiency in two or more of JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET MAUI, iPadOS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software solutions for medical technologies, complying with development standards.
• Collaborate with product engineers, architects, software developers and test engineers to plan and execute.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and foster engineering excellence.
• Participate in reviews of requirements, architecture, designs, and code.
• Identify opportunities to improve development processes and quality practices.
• Design reusable frameworks and components to accelerate development and maintainability.
• Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and approaches.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software impacting patients' lives.
