Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain embedded software for medical products. You will work on proof-of-concept solutions and new features, collaborating with software, hardware, and quality teams across multiple countries to ensure robust, compliant software development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant embedded software experience (Bachelor) or 2 years with a Master.
• Strong hands-on programming in embedded C/C++.
• Experience with microcontroller development in bare-metal and RTOS environments (STM32; ThreadX or equivalent).
• Experience developing and optimising embedded software for performance, memory usage, reliability and real-time behaviour.
• Experience designing software for testability, unit tests, and tests on target hardware.
• Experience integrating hardware and developing drivers for UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, PWM, USB.
• Experience with static analysis, code reviews, and secure coding practices.
• Exposure to Git, CI/CD in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with IEC 62304 is a plus.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software for medical products.

• Contribute to software architecture and modular design.
• Participate in code reviews and software testing.
