Barden is delighted to be working with a global tech company as they look to hire an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Cork.

This is a hands-on engineering role working as part of a team building and evolving a modern data platform. The focus is simple: good engineers, writing good code, solving interesting problems and building software that works well at scale.

You'll be working across backend services, data and platform development, with plenty of scope to contribute to technical decisions and how the platform evolves.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Build and maintain backend services that form part of the company's core data platform.
• Write clean, maintainable production code and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Work with data, APIs and services that need to be reliable, scalable and easy to evolve.
• Contribute to testing, code reviews and engineering standards across the team.
• Solve complex technical problems and think carefully about performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Work closely with other engineers to build and improve the platform over time.
• Make use of modern AI development tools to accelerate development and improve how you work.

ABOUT THE PERSON

• 7+ years' experience in software engineering, with strong hands-on experience building production software.
• Production experience in Python, C#/.NET, or a similar backend language.
• Strong fundamentals around software design, testing, APIs and databases.
• Someone who cares about writing good code and understands what it takes to build and operate software in production.
• AI-first. Claude Code and Cursor are part of how the engineering team works, with a strong focus on using these tools effectively while maintaining high standards around code quality and review.
• A collaborative engineer who enjoys sharing knowledge through code reviews, pairing and working closely with the wider team.
