Job summary

Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is recruiting a Principal Social Worker for Galway to lead the Social Work service with a focus on intellectual disability, autism, and safeguarding. The role offers senior leadership and a key position within a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will provide professional leadership, supervision, and direction, manage complex cases, and contribute to strategic service development to improve person-centred supports for individuals and families.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Leadership or Management is required.
• Recognised Social Work qualification under Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 or CORU validation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and responsibility for the Social Work service.
• Supervise staff and oversee safeguarding systems.
• Lead casework, safeguarding and complex assessments within a multidisciplinary approach.
• Develop service plans and contribute to strategic development.
